What Do Gorean Silks Mean?

Most of us have heard of Gor, but not all of us understand it. One of the aspects of Gor that causes the most confusion is Gorean silk colors and what they mean.

Here's the breakdown:

White - virgins slaves-in-training, most prized

“To be sure,' I said, `'white' in the context of 'white-silk girl' tends less to suggest purity and innocence to the Gorean than ignorance, naivete, and a lack of experience. One expects a red-silk girl, for example, to not only be able to find her way about the furs, but, subject to the whip, owned and dominated, perhaps chained, to prove herself a sensuous treasure within them.”
Savages of Gor, page 205

Red - pleasure slaves, often skilled in particular aspects of sexual service and/or dancing

Yellow - paga/tavern slaves, included in the price of drinks

Black - passion slaves, considered best sexually, n Earth girls could be passion slaves

Purple - color worn by slaves of the Priest-Kings

Gray - color worn by slaves of the state

Blue - slaves of Scribes

Black - unprotected, onowned slaves

More information about Gor to follow in future posts.

Erotic Asphyxiation

What is erotic asphyxiation? Well the easier name is breath play and it the act of restricting air through the nose, mouth, or neck. Breath play can cause the submissive/bottom/slave to have heightened arousal and feel dreamy during their BDSM and/or sexual experience. Using bondage to restrict movement of the person being choked can increase the distress and arousal as well.  Erotic Asphyxiation can be dangerous and should only be done in a consensual environment.

What is Caning & Cane Types

Caning falls under the umbrella of corporal punishment and is frequently the tool of sadomasochists. It is the act of hitting someone with a rod-like implement. For safety reasons, caning should always be done on fleshy areas like the buttocks and thighs. Be sure to avoid vital organs and the spine.

There are many different types of canes used in practice, but they can basically be divided into natural canes and synthetic canes. The most popular of each follows.

Natural Canes:
Wooden - traditional, weakens over time, shatters if broken
Rattan - pictured below, most popular, resilient, breaks clean
Bamboo - ecologically friendly, lightweight, fragile, shatters if broken
Leather - wrapped rattan canes, less intense then other natural canes, durable

Synthetic Canes:
Fiberglass - inexpensive, flexible, whip like quality, density influences impact, lower quality can shatter
Nylon - durable, lasts a long time, density influences impact

In a future post, I will looks at caning techniques, until then please check out these previews of Caning 101 videos (from a paysite, but the video preview offers a lot):
